Description of the Contest
It is the case that the author consciously inserted three errors into the book Socioeconomic Democracy: An Advanced Socioeconomic System. (Remember
the old hand-calculated Trigonometry Tables, with purposely inserted errors
to catch plagiarists?) He also unconsciously inserted three more errors into
the book Socioeconomic Democracy: An Advanced Socioeconomic System. (Remember the last time you tried to produce an error-free essay, only to relearn that perfection is not a human trait?) There are, therefore, six
errors in the book Socioeconomic Democracy: An Advanced Socioeconomic System.
These errors are of a variety that may appear in the first printing of
any important and necessarily hurried book. For example, the book may
contain errors of spelling, punctuation, grammar, syntax, misquotings, logic,
prudence and indeed, truth to tell, errors of truth, to at least partially
enumerate the possibilities. Thus the errors of concern here are errors of
commission; errors of omission will be dealt with in future essays.
Here's how the game is played. The Contest is to find those errors.
More specifically, there are many Contests for Category Winners finding most
of the errors and one Overall Winner who finds them all. Naturally, we can't
give away a copy of the book Socioeconomic Democracy: An Advanced Socioeconomic System to just everyone who finds these errors. What if
everybody in the world begged, borrowed, bought or stole and then carefully
studied the book Socioeconomic Democracy: An Advanced Socioeconomic System
sufficiently to find these errors? Our publisher might be happy, but we'd go
broke. Therefore, in each category, only the first person to respond
correctly in that Category/Contest will be declared the Winner of that
Category/Contest and receive her/his prize. Decisions of the Judges will be

Prizes of the Contests
A Category Winner is anyone who first correctly identifies and communicates to the CSDS by e-mail any particular 2 of the 3 consciously
inserted errors and any particular 2 of the 3 unconsciously inserted errors
in the book Socioeconomic Democracy: An Advanced Socioeconomic System. Each
Category Winner of the FREE BOOK CONTEST will receive a copy of the book,
with S&H prepaid. Of course, since there are 3 different possible pairs of
the 3 consciously inserted errors in the book, and there are 3 different
possible pairs of the 3 unconsciously inserted errors in the book, there are
3 x 3 = 9 different possible combinations of 2 of the 3 consciously inserted
errors and 2 of the 3 unconsciously inserted errors in the book Socioeconomic
Democracy: An Advanced Socioeconomic System. But you already know the math.
Each of the 9 different possible combinations of 2 consciously committed
errors and 2 unconsciously committed errors represents a Category and will
have a Category Winner who will receive a free copy of the book, signed by
the author.
The Overall Winner is the first person who correctly identifies and
communicates to the CSDS by e-mail all 3 of the consciously inserted errors
and all 3 of the unconsciously inserted errors in the book Socioeconomic
Democracy: An Advanced Socioeconomic System. This person will receive not
only a copy of the book Socioeconomic Democracy: An Advanced Socioeconomic
System, but the book will be appreciatively, appropriately and suitably
inscribed by the author, documenting the accomplishment. Naturally, S&H will
also be covered for the Overall Winner of the FREE BOOK CONTEST.
Actually, it could be argued that everyone who enters the FREE BOOK CONTEST will be a Universal Winner. For certainly everyone who finds less
than 2 of the 3 intentionally inserted errors and/or less than 2 of the 3
unintentionally inserted errors will have carefully read the important book Socioeconomic Democracy: An Advanced Socioeconomic System that
contains, so far
as they are concerned, essentially no errors of any possible kind -- surely a
unique, satisfying and rewarding experience.
Why You'd Want a Free Book After You've Read the Book

the publisher. The present best estimate of the timing of that momentous
occasion is Spring 2000. More precise ETAs will be announced right here as
they become available, so keep checking back for the latest information.
This FIND THE ERRORS/FREE BOOK CONTEST will End when all the Category Winners and the Overall Winner are duly established or after six months
following the publication of the book Socioeconomic Democracy: An Advanced
Socioeconomic System, whichever comes first. Unless specifically requested
to not do so, the names of all winners, with their winning answers, will be
posted right here on the world wide web, for all the world to see. No
"fifteen minutes of fame" here; eternal acknowledgment as an Error-Finding
Expert will be your celebrated fate.
